The Maple Run
Celebrate the End of Winter in the North Country
April 17, 2021
8:30 am (13.1) & 10:30am (5k)
As the only half marathon in St. Lawrence County, The Maple Run aims to be both fun and festive. We run to celebrate the end of Winter and support local cross country running programs.
Join us on a scenic, fast course along St. Lawrence county roads, by St. Lawrence University's campus and through the village of Canton. Run fast, turn left.
Work Hard, Play Hard
You're going to train all winter for a half marathon or 5K in Spring- you deserve some kudos and great gear. Our finisher medals are custom designed for The Maple Run, and each entrant receives a mini bottle of local maple syrup for their toils.
To make training more fun in the winter months the Bucc Wild Run Club offers a free group run on Tuesdays, 6pm in Canton, NY. More information here.
Run through beautiful Canton, NY.
Both courses begin and end at Taylor Park Road, Canton, NY 13617.
Course will head North on Miner Street Rd (~1 mile) and Turn Right onto the St. Lawrence University Trail System. The Trail Loop (~1 mile) will come back onto Miner Street. Runners will Turn Left and finish back at Taylor Park Rd (~1 mile).
Can I run with a stroller or my dog?
We cannot allow strollers or dogs on either of the courses. This is for your safety and the safety of other participants and is included in the participant waiver.
I saw that I can Register online - can I mail a check instead?
Yes- please print and mail this form with payment. Please know that registering online makes your registration immediately compatible with the timing device- no middle man to misspell your name or misprint your age.
What is the time limit for the Half Marathon?
The course will be open for 4 hours. This is a fair limit given the timing officials, small group of EMS volunteers, and law enforcement vehicles who are giving their time to make this event a success.
How do I become a sponsor?
The in-person race is sold out- what do I do?
Sign up for the virtual race! Securing a spot in the virtual race give you first priority should spots in the in-person event become available. Also- the course will be open from 8am-5pm on Saturday, April 17th, so although only in-person registrants will be allowed in Taylor Park, you will still be able to run the course and make use of the water station amenities on race day if you'd like.
