Celebrate the End of Winter in the North Country

Established in 2017, The Maple Run is the premier half marathon in St. Lawrence County. We run to celebrate the end of winter, contribute to the economic growth of our community, and benefit local youth running programs with proud support for girls’ and women’s teams from high school to collegiate levels.

Thank you VFW Post 1231, New Perspective Mental Health, Kelly Dairy LLC, and Willard's Resource Management for sponsoring 12 runners in 2024.

Holding a Cup of Water

Work Hard, Play Hard

You're going to train all winter for a half marathon or 5K in spring- you deserve some kudos and great gear. In-person and hybrid finishers earn a wooden medallion. All participants will receive our signature mini-bottle of local maple syrup, and the now-iconic Maple Run crewneck sweatshirt.

For 2024, placement prizes will be offered for men's, women's, and gender non-binary categories for 1st thru 3rd places in the half marathon. The Maple Run is also pleased to offer a doorprize package to one lucky in-person or hybrid participant in a post-race drawing.

To make training more fun in the winter months the Bucc Wild Run Club offers a free group run on Tuesdays, at 6 pm in Canton, NY.

  • All-Virtual

Run or run/walk your 5K or half marathon wherever you want, whenever you want until The Maple Run closes at 12:30 PM on April 13.

The option to submit your time to and be listed in the results section of The Maple Run's website is also available until the event closes.

[All-virtual participants receive a Maple Run sweatshirt and one of our custom-made finisher's medallions. However, due the to a wide variety of routes all-virtual participants may choose, they do not receive a race bib and are not eligible for placement prizes or the doorprize package.]

  • Go Hybrid

For the half marathon only, run on your own, anytime, for 10 miles and then join the 5K pack at 9:15 AM on April 13, 2024 to enjoy the energy of crossing the finish line in person! Log your miles using this form:

[Hybrid participants receive a sweatshirt and a bib that is not equipped with a chip timer. The bib should be worn at the event. On event day, participants will receive a finisher's medallion! Because of the high degree of variability of the routes, hybrid participants may choose for themselves, they are not eligible for placement prizes. Wait--there's more! Hybrid participants are eligible for the doorprize package drawing after the run.]

  • Youth Participants

Participants aged 8 to 17 years old before or on run day are eligible for a complimentary entry. A $10 fee to offset the cost of giveaways, food, and drink is charged at registration.
